Raising funds for the Tour de Cure Foundation
www.offroadies.com.au

We love mountain bike (MTB) riding and want to make a contribution to finding a cure for cancer, by raising funds for Tour de Cure.

At the end of April 2013 we will embark on one of our most ambitious tour to date!

The 'Snowies to Stromlo' - the hard way, 2013

Route: Delegate – Tom Groggin - Khancoban – Providence Portal – Mt Stromlo - Canberra

The 2013 route will see the offroadies team depart the small southern NSW alpine town of Delegate heading over the Snowy river at McKillops Bridge and onto the Victorian High Country before crossing the Murray to tackle the NSW Snowy Mountains. Leaving on Saturday 27th April the route will be almost entirely dirt roads utilising existing 4WD trails and service trails.

The plan is to arrive into Canberra early on Monday 6th May in time to rendezvous with the Tour de Cure riders at the end of their Signature Tour. They will present a cheque for the offfroadies funds raised, and share the celebration of two successful tours and huge funds raised in the fight against cancer.

It is expected that the route will be the most isolated and challenging for riders with a very high chance of winter like alpine conditions combined with over 12,000 metres of climbing on rugged trails for more than 550km.

We aim to expand awareness of Tour de Cure in the mountain biking community, channelling the enthusiasm of riders towards the ultimate goal of finding a cure for cancer. We also try to focus on prevention of cancer by encouraging the benefits of MTB towards overall health. Offroadies activities are focussed on challenging self supported adventure rides off tarmac every year in conjunction with the TDC signature tour.
